Obituary of Danica Dorothy Milosovich

Danica Dorothy Milosovich passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Jackson, CA at the age of95 years old. She was born on May 31, 1928, in Rockdale, Illinois to the late Milan and Katherine Churich.

Thefamily moved to California in 1944 during WWII, settling in San Francisco. After meeting the love ofher life, John Milosovich, at a churchfunction,· they married 7 months later on July 23,  1950 at St.  George Serbian Orthodox Church in Oakland.  They were marriedfor 42 years until the loss ofher husband in 1992.

Danica raised her family in Oakland while attending St George Church until moving to Jackson in 1998. Since her move, she attended St. Sava Church in Jackson until her death. She sang in church choirs for an amazing 80 years. She was a member ofchurch women's organizations and often served as a board member in both Oakland and Jackson.

She will be rememberedfor herfamous bakalar recipe andfor her Lenten cakes. She never met a stranger, always welcoming newcomers to church with herfriendly manner and big smile.

Danica is survived by children, Danica Paul ofJackson, Chris (Peggy) Milosovich ofLos Gatos, Cathy (Sam) Kostich ofRoseville; grandchildren; Thomas (Owen) Paul, Matz (Liza) Paul, Danielle (Andy) Riele, Jenna (Bryon) Face, Felicia (Lester) lcalbaceta, Jonathan (Sarah) Milosovich, Taylor Getty; and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded by her husband, John Milosovich, brother, Michael Churich, and son in law, ProtoDeacon Triva (Tom) Paul.

A prayer service will take place on May 10, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. at St Sava Serbian Orthodox

Church 724 North Main Street, Jackson CA 95642. Funeral service will take place on May 11, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.  also, at St Sava Church. Graveside service will take place on May 11,

2024, at 2:30 p.m.  at the Serbian Cemetery, 1807 Hillside Blvd, Colma, CA 94014.
